Unit 11741’s very own Chaya Hitin composed a few thoughts prior to Tisha B’Av in Israel:

Len is a medic in Gaza and he needs a medic pouch and video laryngoscope.

He saved four men in critical condition.

Maor has a wife and baby and he serves in an elite commando unit. He is divided between his home and his country.

Micha fought Hezbolla for months practically bare chested. No ceramic plates, men dropping like flies, he can't live with this anymore and wants to change the status quo.

We believe in a world of truth and justice. Where people are good and trustworthy.

It is hard to conceive how an army of the bravest, most humane soldiers on earth, are still dealing with critical shortages of basic, protective gear, medical gear and clothing.

It makes no sense. Haven't we caught up?

When combat engineers go into Gaza for the third time, who do they call hours before their entry for helmets?

Unit 11741.

What happens when Ray survives an ambush and his vest is shredded?

What happens when Yehuda is shot in the head and the helmet takes the bullet?

Who do these soldiers call to replace their gear?

Unit 11741 .

Chaim reached out to the army and initiatives over 30 times with no response. He had to evacuate a civilian killed in a terror/shooting attack, while he still doesn't have his own ceramic plates. He feels vulnerable and frustrated.

Unit 11741 sees him.

Who do combat medics turn to for medic pouches and tourniquets and protective plates?

Unit 11741

We are here to listen.

We are here to share the truth.

Our heroes are talking.

Can you hear them?

What are you going to do about it?

Since May 2024 we have helped over 6,000 soldiers with helmets.

Our waiting list for helmets is over 4,000 soldiers.

Our waiting list for ceramic plated vests is over 2700 soldiers.

The time to act is now.

Their safety is our safety.

If Hamas/Hezbollah break our soldiers, they are coming for the civilians next.

We need a strong, united front, and we need our soldiers empowered by the love of their people.

$300 a helmet, $300 a vest, $600 ceramic plates.

Cost of a life, priceless.

It's been Tisha B'av for 10 months straight. Groom after groom, taken too soon.

Father after father missing their child's birth and life.

The grief a bottomless pit, overwhelming and engulfing our entire lives.

This Tisha B'av let's save the next generation of humanity, prevent more widows and orphans. Prevent the preventable and save lives.

Please consider a contribution to Unit 11741.

A Thought for Tisha B’Av
