Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution on July 2, 2025, following a high-profile federal trial in New York. The jury, however, acquitted him of the more severe charges, including one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking.
The charges stemmed from a sweeping indictment that accused Combs of leading a criminal enterprise that engaged in numerous illegal activities, including sex trafficking, to satisfy his desires and protect his reputation. Prosecutors argued that Combs, 55, used his wealth and power to coerce women into participating in recorded sexual encounters, sometimes referred to as "freak-offs."
The guilty verdicts were specifically related to transporting his former girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, and another woman identified as "Jane," for prostitution. Both women provided key testimony during the trial, detailing instances where they were allegedly forced to engage in sex acts with male prostitutes.
While the jury reached a verdict on these four counts, they were initially deadlocked on the racketeering charge, which is the most serious and carries a potential life sentence. After further deliberation, they ultimately found him not guilty on this count. The two guilty counts for transportation for prostitution each carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Combs had previously rejected a plea deal before the trial began.
