Kobi Samerano, father of Yonatan Samerano who was brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7, has alleged that a terror tunnel was uncovered last week just meters from the grounds where the Nova music festival was held. According to Samerano, the discovery underscores how close Israel came to another tragedy and why the war against Hamas cannot be abandoned.
In a public statement, Samerano expressed outrage at those demanding a ceasefire. He noted that many of the same voices once rallied for the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit at any cost, a move he believes paved the way for Hamas’s resurgence. “The ones shouting today to ‘stop the war’ are the same who shouted to ‘free Gilad Shalit’ and brought disaster upon us,” he wrote.
He accused so-called “peace camp” activists of promoting illusions of a “new Middle East” while ignoring repeated threats. He also condemned those who spread false accusations against Israel in past conflicts, contrasting their silence on Hamas atrocities with their eagerness to vilify Israeli soldiers.
For Samerano, the alleged discovery of the tunnel is a chilling reminder of how deeply Hamas had infiltrated Israel’s borders and how close terrorists came to carrying out more massacres. “The price we paid on October 7 obligates us to eliminate Hamas, restore deterrence, and crush our enemies completely,” he declared.
His words are both a father’s grief and a call to action: that only through the total defeat of Hamas can the memory of the slaughtered, including his son Yonatan, be honored.
We are working to confirm the allegation that the tunnel was discovered in the past few weeks.
