While IDF soldiers were injured and/or dying in intense combat last December, FIDF was claiming to be assist every soldier that entered Gaza with the most essential items. The claims made by Lara Krinsky are outrageous (emphasis added):
One final important message, friends.
I just want you to know that you actually are on the front lines with our soldiers.
It's true.
Every combat soldier headed into Gaza is wearing thermals you provided,
has a backpack filled with hygiene essentials that you delivered,
sleeps under tents that you made possible.
To put this in context, you need to understand that many soldiers are going on 21 days without a shower.
Their health is only upheld by your gifts.
We have fulfilled every need the IDF has asked of us because of you.
So many of these items that we take for granted are truly essential to keeping clean,
healthy,
and protected from the inherently unsanitary conditions of war across enemy lines.
So thank you for making sure that our soldiers have the most important thing,
their health and their strength to win this war for our home.
If FIDF wants to raise money for flip-flops and candy, they can go right ahead. But lying about the situation on the ground and claiming that by providing a bar of soap to a soldier that will help deliver “the most important thing, their health” borders on outright fraud.
Safe helmet? Nope. Safe ceramic plates? Not today! Protective eyewear? Forget about it! The most important things that the soldiers need are toothpicks, mentos and chewing gum. Is that truly the logic?
Lara also fails to mention the hundreds of groups that popped up after October 7th to assist soldiers 24/7. These groups were able to act quickly and without overhead and immediately assist soldiers in need. Why does FIDF have to trample on their contributions?
