FIDF National Director Nadav Padan proves once again that the must urgent front-line needs of IDF soldiers were not being taken care of FIDF. Their focus was spirituality, though they again and again claimed that they were on the frontlines when soliciting donations. Here is the transcript from January 10th, 2024 (emphasis added):
And to do this long journey, we have to have a support. So what we're doing as the FIDF, by sending our care and support to the people of Israel, is significantly important in those days. It's really what will enable Israel and the IDF to win this war. So thank you again for your support. It's the best ammunition you can send to Israel, better than any helmet, any drone or whatever. Spiritual, the IDF, spiritual, the spirit of Israel. And let us be able to keep the spirit for the end of the war and win this war in Gaza Strip and other places. So thank you.
Instead of commending private efforts and outside efforts to raise money and support soldiers with truly essential and lifesaving equipment, Padan instead claims that providing yamulkas, hand sanitizer and flip-flops are “the best ammunition you can send to Israel, better than any helmet, any drone or whatever.”
The founders of FIDF had truly great intentions. It is a shame that the organization has disgraced its name and gaslit soldiers in their time of need.
