On September 1, Israel delivered its victory. Not on the battlefield, but in the classrooms. More than 2.5 million children returned to school. One hundred eighty thousand began first grade. One hundred forty-nine thousand entered their final year. Hundreds of thousands filled kindergartens and pre-kindergartens. In the ultra-Orthodox and Arab sectors alone, over a million students resumed their studies.
This was no routine opening of the school year. Students who had been evacuated from the Gaza Envelope and the north are back in their communities. They are proof that Israel endures. They are proof that terror did not win.
In the south, where Hamas once tried to erase entire towns, the voices of children in classrooms are the clearest rebuttal. In the north, where Hezbollah’s rockets once emptied schools, children have come home to their desks. President Isaac Herzog stood in Kiryat Shmona and declared it a symbol of courage, a symbol of victory.
This is how Israel wins. Not with boasts, not with slogans, but with life restored. The return of children to their classrooms is the strongest answer to those who sought destruction. The students sitting at their desks today are Israel’s victory.

Another Israeli victory, for university students
