As IDF soldiers prepared to enter Gaza in October of 2023, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) worked to ensure that soldiers’ desperate requests for help were ignored and money was directed to “those in real need.”
In an October 17th, 2023 statement, JFNA spread the lies of the IDF Spokesperson’s office (specifically Daniel Hagari from October 9th) and told supporters that “all of the necessary equipment is available.”
The IDF was missing tens of thousands of ballistic helmets and ceramic vests in addition to dozens of other basic items. Many of these problems persist until today.
Will JFNA apologize to the families of soldiers that died in poor equipment? Will JFNA apologize to the soldiers that spent tens if not hundreds of thousands of shekels of their own money to purchase basic equipment? Will JFNA admit that they promoted outright lies and falsehoods that contributed to the endangering of lives on the front-lines? Will anything change?
