In 2019, Jay Parker told the Los Angeles Times that Oren and Tal Alexander had “the gift of gab,” worked “very hard” and were “very disciplined.” Parker, then as now the chief executive of Douglas Elliman’s Florida brokerage, said he first met the brothers at a Shabbat dinner at their parents’ home. “The squeaky wheel gets the oil,” he said, “and these guys never stop squeaking.”
Five years later, the brothers were arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. Last Thursday, a lawsuit filed in New York named a second man who allegedly assaulted one of their victims that same night in 2014. Sources familiar with the matter identify that man as Parker.
The night had started with promise for Tracy Tutor. According to her complaint, she flew from Los Angeles to New York at Douglas Elliman’s expense, hoping to land a job at one of the country’s biggest real estate brokerages. She went to a cocktail reception, then a recruitment dinner. Someone handed her a large pink drink she says she never would have ordered. Shortly after, she alleges, she blacked out.
Her friend Cory Weiss says he found her in a men’s restroom stall with Oren Alexander, his shirt open, kissing her. She appeared, in his words, “out of her mind.”
The next morning, February 11, 2014, Tutor says she woke up alone in a hotel room that wasn’t hers. She was naked, with no memory of how she got there. She had been wearing a tampon. It was gone. According to the lawsuit, she “was surrounded by blood.”
She called Weiss in a panic, the complaint says. He told her to call hotel security. When he arrived, two employees were already in the room and required persuading before they would let him take her.
Tutor, a star of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,” filed her complaint in the Southern District of New York. It names one defendant: Oren Alexander, the former Douglas Elliman broker now on trial in federal court in Manhattan on sex trafficking charges. But the filing also describes a second man who, according to the complaint, took Tutor to his hotel room and sexually assaulted her after she lost consciousness. It does not identify him.
Parker, the Chief Executive Officer of Brokerage for Douglas Elliman’s Florida region and President of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, Florida, has grown the company’s presence to 27 offices and more than 1,300 agents since joining in 2013.
