It is not often that a prime minister waves a murdered man’s letter on live television. Yet that is exactly what Benjamin Netanyahu did after Charlie Kirk was assassinated. The moment drew worldwide attention. And now, with the New York Post releasing the full seven-page letter today, the public can finally see what Kirk actually wrote and why his message matters.
On television Netanyahu held up the physical document, reading from Kirk’s warning that “it pains me to see support for Israel slip away.” He used the letter to swat down conspiracy theories circulating on the far right that Israel had any role in Kirk’s killing, calling such lies a “monstrous big lie.” The prime minister’s gesture was intended as a tribute, but it sparked controversy. Candace Owens rushed to accuse Netanyahu of manipulation. “The man literally booked himself on an American prime time show and held up a letter to represent it as a love letter to Israel,” she complained. She called it “naked, deception and propaganda.” Tucker Carlson echoed the same sentiment. Yet for anyone who reads the document itself, the truth is undeniable. Kirk’s words came from a place of love and care, not from hatred.
“In my opinion, Israel is losing the information war and needs a ‘communications intervention,’” Kirk wrote. He described his campus tours where thousands of students, including conservatives, hurled accusations at him: “Israel is an apartheid state.” “Why does Israel conduct ethnic cleansing?” “Israel and Jews are responsible for 9/11.” Kirk warned that “Israel is losing support even in conservative circles. This should be a 5 alarm fire.”
He diagnosed the failure bluntly. Israel was absent from the field of information. “Sometimes, it feels like I’m defending Israel in public more than your own government,” he admitted. “Honestly, I don’t even know if you have a press secretary. When you don’t push back, anti-Semitism and anti-Israel propaganda fill the void.”
Kirk’s prescriptions were equally direct. He urged the creation of a rapid response team to counter lies in real time. He proposed an Israel Truth Network, a one-stop hub for fact checks, video content, and myth-busting resources. He recommended sending released hostages on speaking tours to expose Hamas’s cruelty. He suggested highlighting the voices of ordinary Israelis, Jewish and Arab, secular and religious, who could speak directly about their country’s pluralism. He argued that Israel must present the case against Iran in English, in podcasts and on social media, instead of relying on American voices. Above all, he pressed for originality. “Israel needs to learn to fish (i.e. create your own content) and be more self-reliant when it comes to your communications strategy,” he wrote.
Kirk was explicit about the motivation behind his critique. “Everything written here is from a place of deep love for Israel and the Jewish people,” he stressed. That love was expressed not in flattery but in rebuke. He called Israel’s current approach “PR malpractice” and warned that silence online would erode American support. “From my vantage point, Israel has retreated from social media without a fight. How are you going to win over younger generations if you’re starting out in retreat on social media?” He urged Israel to show itself as an ally in shared values, writing that “Israel needs to better portray itself as a member of ‘Team Humanity.’”
That is the letter Netanyahu displayed on live television. That is the letter Candace Owens dismissed as deception. To call it propaganda is to deny what is obvious on every page. Kirk was not flattering. He was warning. He was not hostile. He was caring.
Charlie Kirk did not live to see whether his counsel would be taken. His murder has given his words the gravity of a final testament. The question now is whether Israel will have the courage to act on his prescriptions and finally fight the information war with the urgency it demands. And the parallel question is whether the public will finally see through people like Candace Owens, whose distortions dishonor the dead. The future should belong to those who speak with clarity and honesty, not to liars and frauds who twist a murdered man’s words for their own gain.

They did everything Charlie pointed out in that letter. They hired a drunk ex MAGA and a team of influencers that suckered the Israeli government into paying them millions. Team MAGA destroyed that last of the respect from many on the Right. Every person Israel hired from the US should be fired and forbidden to discus Israel ever again
So very grateful to have read this, along with Charlie Kirk’s letter. I knew Charlie Kirk loved Israel and had good relations with Israeli leadership, and I have been disheartened by posts I have seen recently blaming Israel (!) for Charlie’s assassination. Charlie Kirk was respected and loved by millions, in Israel also; you didn’t need to be Christian to respect and love him. You just had to care about goodness, love of God and family, truth and honesty, and love of country. Your post eased my heart — it is just a relief to know that Charlie Kirk was looking out for the welfare and survival of Israel even in his last days. He will be deeply missed. Thank you so much for your post.
