The ADL used to be part of B’nai Brith. They now are just another leftist shill group and no longer represent Jews. Although money is fungible, when I donate to Federation, I ask that none of it be allocated to Jonathan Greenblatt’s woke ADL.
Under Greenblatt the ADL became a progressive organization, and forgot it was a Jewish one. He tried to rehabilitate that Jew-hater and race baiter Al Sharpton and came to the defense of that kapo George Soros. They even tried to rewrite the defintion of racism to fit the progressive mold, which would infact make some forms of antisemitism ok. There was such an outcry they had to put back the original definition. The AdL stopped caring about fighting antisemitism along time ago. The stuff we see on campuses is decades in the making. They did nothing about it because it was coming from the Left.
Now is Turning Point exempt from criticism, no its not. Are there some things that do not sit well with Jewish Americans, yes. We can be suspect of a society that is run only on christian principles. Been there done that for 2000 years. It did not end up well for us.
But caught between supporters of Israel on the right and those that want to genocide Israel on the left, I choose the supporters.
Under former leader Abraham Foxman, the ADL clearly had its biases, but the biases were less overwhelming then. The current leader is a truly shameless “leftist” partisan who has eliminated ideological restraints that his predecessor stayed within.
The ADL lost its moral authority to represent me under Greenblatt. He has prioritized the issues of other minority groups over Jewish interests and advanced the agenda of the progressive and woke in the Democratic party. I live in Canada. Last week, I attended a gala celebrating B’nai Brith Canada’s 150 anniversary. It is Canada’s first human rights organization and its mission and the ADL’s notionally were at one time the same. Charlie Kirk had been murdered that afternoon. Former PM Stephan Harper was the keynote speaker and Ben Mulroney, son of the late PM Brian Mulroney was the moderator. The reaction to Kirk’s passing was very different. Both men lauded his contributions and condemned his murder, with no reservations. The expression of my feelings here about the ADL and Greenblatt are constrained by civility.
They threw Brigitte Gabriel under the bus decades ago and cried out islamophobia whenever convenient. How to alienate Christian supporters👀
