Aidan Kearney has consistently shown to be a reckless and ignorant person. The recent comments about what it entails to be Holocaust survivor were beyond awful.

I disagree with your analysis on the role he played in the Karen Read case. In my opinion and research, he was purely a chosen mouthpiece for the murder defendant to spread conspiracy theories and misinformation with no integrity to go back and ‘fix’ his errors. The campaign dehumanized and harassed many people including the victim’s grieving mother.

He’s not a good person, and he continues to prove it over and over.

I welcome any information with an open mind. I don’t want to get into the Karen Read situation here but when it comes to the Holocaust he is clearly a clown.

Agreed. Thank you for writing about his appalling statements regarding the Holocaust.

He is a clown in all aspects & does absolutely no fact checking or journalism whatsoever. His personal life is also a disaster. While he makes fun of other people, he can't even not cheat constantly.

He uses and abuses the label of "journalist" to bully and intimidate people, and he lacks the integrity to report ethically. The misinformation he shared covering the Karen Read case was awful, and the dehumanizing of witnesses in order to push a conspiracy theory was beyond gross.

Agree entirely. We have close friends who live in Canton and their lives have been badly impacted by Free Karen Read and Turtleboy. He refuses his treatment for BPAD, has made horrible accusations against innocent people and spins theories about police misconduct that turn out to have no basis. He also spread rumors about one of my son's employers that relied on reputation and trust, causing 70% of the customers to cancel their contracts and bankrupted the place in a week. No supporting facts ever emerged. He simply lies and is a narcissist who makes everything be about him.

Sorry if I am jumping all over Daniel, I doubt that he meant any harm, but people who have followed this are going to want to strangle any positive reputation about Kearney in the cradle.

Thank you for this article. I had a beloved violin teacher who escaped Europe at the time. He was young then and he was very grateful for the ability to escape because he wouldn't have survived.

In regards to Aidan Kearney:

I have watched Aidan Kearney for some time and I noticed some pretty significant personality traits. I reached out to a forensic criminal psychologist with my questions and had a good discussion with her.

.

One very prominent characteristic that we both noticed is that Aidan sees a situation in black or white, typically referred to as "splitting." For Aidan, a person is either all good or all bad. He thinks in polar opposites, there's no in-between. For example, he not only harrassed the witnesses, he included harassing their children and their extended families despite having no involvement in the case. So he considered the entire family as a bad entity.

So keeping that in mind, I'm not surprised that Aidan would make that connection that someone has to have been an adult or lived a concentration camp in order to be a "survivor." It's the "all or nothing" thinking he has.

No I don’t agree with Turtleboy’s definition of Holocaust survivor. I even more disagree with the callousness and lack of empathy that he spoke on the subject.

I think he was an effective fighter for justice for Karen Read. I predict overall he’ll end up in a net win in his own case. Mostly, I believe the years and years of corruption in Massachusetts were proving to have no end in sight. How I would define what I’ve witnessed, is that corruption by entrusted and elected officials, who broke dozens of laws and oaths to the public weren’t showing any slowing till a character came in used corrupt nature or behavior against them. Massachusetts elected officials and police are tasked with serving the public and then took oaths. They also additionally broke laws, tossed aside their oaths and acted corrupt in their personal behaviors and actions.

The CW and police hold a higher burden for many reasons. Turtleboy has no such responsibility. I’m thankful for what he is willing or capable of doing towards the CW and police that showed zero sign of self correction. Did he do it in a way most of us wouldn’t? Yeah. Would I do it that way? No, but I can still be grateful for the results. He has no duty to the public unlike the CW and MSP. Did he break any laws? I guess we’ll find out as he now makes his way through the system. Just because anyone disagrees with how he did it should not have any leaning on whether or not laws were broken. My personal interpretation and how I think it’ll end up is that he’ll be found to have not broken any laws.

All of us are welcome to our own opinions of him. If you don’t like him, don’t refer to him as award winning, stop watching his YouTube or visiting his website just to make comments stating how much you dislike him. It’s only feeding the traffic and algorithms. His bad taste and bad faith actions should not (and can not) change the interpretations, intentions or previous statutes for or against, the charges he now been charged with.

To tie it all up… more than one thing can be true, more than two things can, more than three and four and five! My personal opinion is TB was useful and necessary in KR’s case, in his own case and a net positive for citizens of Massachusetts and has helped hold up freedom of speech and press as a whole. I appreciate him doing it overall. I don’t love the way he did it but I’m not sure much else could have gotten the job done at this point. I am sorry to those that have been dragged through the fallout of TB’s ways who didn’t deserve it. All of us are dealt things in life that are unfair. Unfortunately the CW and police who hold the duty and swore to serve the public repeatedly failed or flat out acted in opposition to the public. Lastly, circling back to the article (LOL) Turtleboy is every bad thing he has said about others, in reference to his comment about Holocaust survivors. You can go call him all those bad things if you want, that’ll only say something about those who do though. I also think there’s a high amount of ignorance there.

I’m back within probably an hour. First of all, I apologize for needing seeing your comment about not wanting to get into KR here.

Secondly, I did a little more research and spent more time thinking more deeply about how I felt and watching Joel’s response. I’ve returned to update my statement. I admittedly was a pretty strong TB supporter. I’ll now clarify that I do still appreciate the fight for speech and press and government and police following guidelines, law and good faith. I will no longer support TB.

I support Karm and survivors! I feel bad for the tough situation that Tim B. and Mark B. now find themselves in.

David Wyman's avatar

Thank you. Massachusetts has been known for overlooked corruption and I sympathise that you might be very willing to accept any allies making progress in calling it out. But none was ever found in the Read case. One officer made an ugly statement in an email and he was moved to another division. That was it after years of accusations. The entire support for FKR came from two sources: people who were very ready to believe the police were wrong about anything and didn't look much further, and middle-aged women who kept talking about how attractive Read was and how physically unattractive her critics were.

I listened to the book about Karm on Audible. Highly recommend it! You will laugh and cry and appreciate life more after reading it. Five stars.

TB is smahht enuff to know he poked a bear when picking on the Holocaust and Karm with STS as a default by design. He thrives on good or bad PR and you just made his day. Thank you for your heartfelt response with respect to Karm and Holocaust History.

Fyi he didn't actually do "Investigative journalism" he didn't actually "investigate" anything. He was fed a narrative and some documents from the defendant herself. He admitted to not even reading or fully understanding all the court documents because they were "boring." To give credit to someone who did not journalism and no investigation is ridiculous & takes away from the story you wrote here. He did in this case what he does in every case, spread misinformation & lies. This is who he is and he does it over and over and over. He has adult tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants and attacks people for no real reason. Honestly your 1st paragraph should be retracted after a doing a little more reasearch of your own. You can't do "investigative journalism" on info and a story fed to you by the person charged with the crime & admitting he didn't read all the court docs in the case even by the end of the 1st trial because they were boring & he didn't understand them. How can journalism be done if that is the case? Answer is obviously it can't!

Do you think he did anything worthwhile in asking questions that others didn't care to ask?
