I have dozens of friends who donate fortunes to FIDF. I have always said what you are saying. These friends have asked FIDF their responses are 2 fold: 1. It’s illegal under US law to provide things like helmets (not true IMO) and 2. That they simply do what the IDF wants and the IDF is not asking for those (lifesaving) items. Thoughts?

The issue is two-fold. If FIDF's mandate is strictly humanitarian assistance, then it should stay in its lane and refrain from commenting on broader IDF matters. Last I checked, it’s not a public relations arm of the Israeli military. If the real problem lies with IDF leadership, then it’s their responsibility—not FIDF’s—to explain their decisions to soldiers, families, and the public.

So why is FIDF inserting itself into the conversation and spreading misinformation?

When it comes to humanitarian aid, FIDF should be laser-focused on maximizing efficiency and securing the best value to support soldiers on the ground. That clearly isn’t happening. And instead of addressing that failure, they’ve chosen to deflect and distract.

Can you clarify more? I havent read that their mandate is “strictly humanitarian” is that true? And if so, isnt protective gear “humanitarian”? Why wont they give helmets, drones, etc?? OR If it’s true that they simply follow IDF needs…AND soldiers, families etc dont ever press the IDF on the issue , we are not going to accomplish anything. I appreciate your speaking out on the corruption and mismanagement, but i am equally upset that they mislead the public about what they do for soldiers, and rely on people to read the annual report and then ask questions.

It's an extremely complicated matter. They have an official partnership with the Ministry of Defense and are receiving instructions from the MOD. We can debate back and forth about whether or not FIDF should help with drones. I think we can all agree that they shouldn't misrepresent what they are doing. As I have shown on my Substack, they do this repeatedly.
