“Like other people who’ve never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she’s ignorant of how ignorant she is.”
Emma and Daniel‘s public statements have left me seething. The words I have for both of them, but particularly Watson, are ineffable here. I'm glad that Rowling has finally spoken and that the gloves are off. I support her 100%.
I have never been a big fan of the Harry Potter books. I read the first and found it very entertaining and imaginative, but not "adult" enough for me to go on to the others. Despite that, I admired Rowling for her talent and, even more, her gritty story of writing her way out of poverty and into a level of success and fame that few will ever know. That she has used her bully pulpit to support women and girls is to her everlasting credit. When she came out questioning, and then condemning, the transgender movement that was swallowing up an entire generation of confused, socially infected young girls, I cheered her on and agreed with her completely. I have no huge platform or influence to make even a slight dent in the outcry against her but, if I have an opportunity to speak out and support her, I will do so without qualification. Excellent piece. I hope it is widely disseminated.
Is she trying to tell me that state run rape crisis centres are famously overrun with intimidating trans women making everyone feel uncomfortable? Not in my experience..
I don’t know what makes her think that she’s more qualified to speak on this than Emma Watson either. Crackers.
Well done . JK speaks for the majority of women in the UK . The Stonewall backed evil gang of misogynists managed to drag in these stupid actors who were no doubt advised by their people to jump on the latest bandwagon. I have no problem with people who want to transition because they genuinely feel they have an issue . I have friends whose children have done so with quiet dignity whilst going through extensive surgery. The Stonewall mob just hate women and want to remove us from anything that identifies us as women . They have been infiltrated by paedophiles and predators who put all females at risk. Dressing up in women clothes does not make them women because underneath is still male violence and that is seen at the vile level of attacks on anyone that does not agree with them . You only have to listen to them at their public marches ... the level of hate is astounding . Let's hope that the tide is turning . I have no issue with people being what they want but this is on a different level.
Emma Watson has the same right to use the platform her celebrity gives her as has Rowling.
If Rowling accuses Watson of not knowing 'what real life is', well, that's not Watsons fault. She rose to stardom at 10. What she lost, only she knows (and Rowling, by now, must know, too.) There is more than a one generation gap between them, and Rowling should be wiser, than she is acting - behaving - right now.
Emma Watson is now an adult and should be expected to act and take her lumps like one. How long should she hide behind her youth and celebrity and feel she can speak out with impunity even when her words are not just hurtful, but literally dangerous? I think Rowling has responded in the articulate, measured way that an adult would. Good for her!
I support JK’s right of free speech, but she’s acting like a toolbag. Emma is about the only person still willing to talk to her, and she’s trying to pick a popularity fight with one of the most popular people on the planet.

Shana Tova.
I thought her statement was brilliant.
JK Rowling is an international treasure. Thank you for sharing her latest important message.

She's absolutely right. They've never had to live in the real world.
Brilliant!

Love Rowling and her statement but she was never truly poor.

All JK asked for was a conversation . Watson & co were targeted
if anyone is ignorant of real life, it’s JK rowling with her bigotry https://open.substack.com/pub/leftiejane/p/if-you-still-like-harry-potter-youre?r=pm4cz&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

Being poor at 14 has tons to do with transgender people.
Go JK Rowling !!!! The world needs some perspective.
Yes! Finally! Glad JK finally said something.
"All witches are welcome."
Sounds out of context.
Je suis J.K. Rowling!
